Grandma (Marie Haines) Chicken Pot Pie

   Grandma (Mary) Haines Chicken Pot Pie

2C flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/3C shortening (vegetable oil is okay)
About 1C water

Mix as for pie crust.  Roll out about 1/4" thick and cut into rectangles about 2" x 3".

Have ready:
     Boiled, skinned, boned chicken
     Chicken broth (from cooking chicken and canned)
     About 4C of peeled, sliced potatoes (in hot water)
 

In a kettle of boiling broth, put a layer of potatoes, then a layer of dough, and a layer of chicken.  Repeat, ending with dough.  The broth should come up to the top layer of dough.  Cover and simmer until the potatoes are done.

This is very good warmed up the next day.
