W. Lee baker, 87, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 24, 2018.

He was born in Lustre, Montana on his grandparents Ranch.  After graduating from high school in Lewistown, MT, he attended Montana State University for a year.  He then enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Germany.  Following that he began his career as an Industrial Engineer in hte aerospace industry at Rohr Aircraft Co. in San Diego and Lockheed Missiles and Space Co. in Sunnyvale, CA.

He returned to Lewistown as owner/manager of the Trails End Motel for ten years.  During that time he was very involved with aviation issues regarding Federal reduction of Flight Service Stations and the deregulation of the airlines and the effects they would have on Montana.

In 1983 he moved to the East Coast where he returned to his career as an Industrial Engineer working with computer systems at Martin-Marietta in Maryland and as a consultant at Arde, Inc. in New Jersey.

1997 Lee and Carole retired and moved to Punta Gorda.  Lee enjoyed flying his airplane, skiing, sailing, golf, and driving fast cars.  He also enjoyed inviting friends over for sourdough waffles and sticky buns.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carole; sons Brett (Karen), and Brian (Heather); grandchildren Sara, Mark, Colin, and Olivia; brother Gary (Pat); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Per family tradition, his ashes will be scattered at the family homestead in Clancy, MT at the annual family reunion.
